After the overwhelming success of the first class, Scott Kelby returns to New York to spend another day with Jay Maisel. However, it quickly became apparent to everyone present that what started out as a continuation of the last class was morphing into something more. In the end, no two days with Jay Maisel are ever the same and this day proved to be more revealing as Scott and crew discovered a little bit more about what makes Jay Maisel the legendary photographer that he is, why he makes the choices he makes, and what shaped him and his illustrious career.

Color Happens (07:09) Scott and Jay pick up where they left off the last time they met by reacquainting themselves with their last discussion.
I Am Trying To Go Out Empty (02:33) At a nearby soccer field, Jay demonstrates what it means to be open to everything in front of you - to shoot without a preconceived notion.
Sometimes, Your Best Zoom is Your Feet (03:00) During a stop at a park bench, Jay shows Scott how to look around him and find the shot while reminding him, You do have your feet, you know.
If You Are in the Dark (04:00) While discussing street photography, the conversation turns to inspiration and Jay's approach. A method that almost reads like a philosophy of life
If It Does Not Look Good, I Do Not Want to Fix It (06:33) The discussion turns to Jay's philosophy on photography and what being a photographer means, before going into some of the technicalities of his shooting process.
Stand Still (03:30) Jay and Scott pause for a moment to let the photographic stories reveal themselves.

If You Try and Say Everything (12:21) Scott and Jay sit down for a little question and answer session taken from Scott's Twitter feed.
They Do Not Call it Trial and Success (06:56) Jay shares his philosophy on failure and its importance, film and video, and his non-usage of Photoshop. Plus, he answers more of your technical questions.
Walk in Snow Without Leaving Footprints (03:27) Jay's thoughts on composition, or the lack thereof, that makes a great photographer. The point is driven home with some of the shots taken that day.
If You Shoot it For the Love of it (09:06) You understand why you shot it. Scott asks Jay to talk about his photographic point of view, model releases, and the differences between shooting for the love or the money. His advice: Look to art, not photography for inspiration.
The House Tour (09:47) In what is probably the most revealing chapter, Jay allows the camera crew inside the 7-story house (built in the late 1800's) that he has occupied and filled with fascinating references, objects and collections of all types for the last 45 years
That is Not Dust (07:55) While sharing the history of his building from the roof, the discussion turns to 9/11. Pictures from A Tribute are shown. Music: 21 Gun Salute by Victor Gagnon of Seven Nations.
Cramped for Space as I Am (07:14) Jay takes Scott and crew into the old bank vault in his building that houses the repository of photography that is his life's work.

This course was just amazing. I was taught so much and now want to try and be anything as aware and skilled as Jay. I think I will watch it again, but after I go out and push my eye with some photography.

I just finished watching this documentary and it was fabulous. And I do think of it as such: a documentary. I don't know how film festivals work in their submission and admission process, but this piece of history - so beautifully shot, by the way - helps to preserve the legacy of a person and should be shown to a much wider audience. I would like to thank Scott Kelby and Kelby Training for this and, of course, Jay Maisel. Thank you so much.

Hi guys, I gotta tell you...I loved this course and the other two with Jay as well. I learned soooo much from these videos. I've been a subscriber to NAAP and to Kelby training for a number of years. I've watched many of your courses, some even more than once, and I love them all. You guys are great and I thank you for everything that you do. I just ask one thing...please keep them coming!!!! Just yesterday I went to a live class on street photography at a local camera store out here on Long Island and I gotta tell you...it really really sucked!!!! I guess it was because I already watched two of your videos with Jay and I was expecting a lot more. You guys are great!! Now how about a new video on the D4???? :-)

Easily, my Favorite of the 3, very thought provoking. How I would LOVE to have a cup of coffee with him on his roof top terrace talking life, not to mention his vault. The sheer history in there is unimaginable. And I'm eager to ask the question about the couple in the bathroom, but perhaps the thought of not knowing what they were up to is more thought provoking than knowing. Well done crowd.

I am in awe after watching this course. Jay Maisel is truly a brilliant and intriguing individual and what a treat to be able to get a peek inside this man's mind. This documentary/class was extremely thought provoking. His outlook on life leaves me thinking, his photography leaves me thinking, his choice of quotes leaves me thinking...what an absolutely amazing and inspiring individual. What an honor to get a peek into his home and his work. He talks of how museums inspire him, his home/studio is inspiring! His home/studio is a museum filled with photographs that evoke emotion, history, and passion. As a New Yorker, it was so very touching to here what he had to say and what his daughter had to say about 9/11. To see his photographs in honor and tribute of the Twin Towers left me speechless.

I have seen all three courses with Jay Maisel and learned that photography is not about technical stuff but is about life. The photo you capture is a visual of your soul! This course is one of the best things I have seen. Seeing Jay Maisel shooting , talking and in his house was marvellous. It reminded me of my talks with Art Blakey after his concerts. Talks with little words but a great content. My wife shares my opinion . This course is sufficient to justify enlisting in Kelby training. Teunis Korteweg

Another Day with Jay Maisel was simply amazing! When I stumbled across KelbyTraining recently I wondered if it was going to be worth the investment, or if it was just another site for some guys trying to make a buck. Well it didn't take long to realize that this was going to be a worthwhile investment. The quality of your productions are wonderful! I have learned so much already I can't believe it! I wish I had the funds to meet and learn from Mr. Maisel in person, but I'm just a regular guy with a passion for photography. Maybe you guys should have some contests or give-aways so us regular guys can win a chance to learn from some of these great iconic photographers you have on your site! Keep up the great work! In fact, I´ve watched this class for the second time. It´s amazing how much I may learn from it each time I watch it. Even Jay Maisel sad he´s not talented for photography, in my opinion he is very talented to teach us about the theme.

I was a working pro for years back in the film days. I left to pursue other interests and lately 18 year old daughter has decided to go into photography and I am now teaching her. We outfitted ouselves with good digital equipment, new lights and other accessories and I am having the time of my life but wondering why I ever left. I found Kelby training, and took her to the light it shoot it seminar and so far I have done all this for her, I am getting nothing out of it (Yeah right!). I am happy to say that I too am learning a great deal and have also watched this and Jay's other video many times. I am so happy to be able to see Jay who has been one of my photographic heros from the time I began to shoot. As far as content or advice, hey it's Jay Maisel what more can be said. Thanks Kelby training.
