Photoshop Compositing Secrets – Unleash Your Creativity

10:00 to 11:00 A.M.
Learn to transform a collection of ordinary photographs into seamless, stunning composites.

Use creative masking to weave the contents of one layer so that it appears to go above and below other layers. Create complex backgrounds by combining simple features like Shape Layers, Layer Styles and Patterns. Learn to quickly target any layer, reposition it and move it up or down in the layers stack without having to look at the Layers panel, use menus or click any icons. Seamlessly blend multiple images so you can’t tell where one ends and the other begins. Match brightness, contrast and color between layers to make sure separate images feel right when combined.

Adding Depth and Dimension to Your Images

11:15 A.M. to 12:15 P.M.
Learn to use light and shadows along with perspective and atmosphere to create a sense of a third dimension in your 2D images.

Use perspective to properly place objects within a scene and make them look as if they are at various depths. Learn to add atmospheric distortion to trick the eye into thinking objects are further away than others. Add light and shadows while keeping them at the correct angles to add even more dimension. Also learn how varying the density and softness of a shadow determines how far an object seems to float above any background. Discover how varied sharpness and varied shadow rendering can make a 3D object feel more realistic and how generic settings produce generic imagery. Bend scanned imagery over 3D surfaces to add realistic textures to a background. Retouch 3D images by retaining proper perspective when cloning from near and far objects. Curl the corner of flat objects and add proper shadows while retaining text edit-ability.

LUNCH BREAK 12:15 to 1:15 P.M.

Discover the best method for isolating furry, fuzzy and hairy objects from their backgrounds. Mastering Photoshop’s Advanced Blending Modes

2:45 to 3:45 P.M.
Photoshop’s Blending modes (multiply, screen, hard light, and others) are essential to any creative Photoshop project. Learn to push them way beyond the basics to you’re your creativity to a whole new level.

See how a specialized set of filters can take special advantage of blending modes to become dramatically more useful. Learn which blending modes are most useful when working with masks and see how they can save you a lot of time and frustration. Discover why the blending mode menu is organized the way it is and see how the grouped modes relate to each other. Understand how multiple blending modes are often necessary to produce a satisfactory result and how the order and opacity affect your results. Use blending modes to separate the bright and dark areas of a layer into separate elements so that they can easily be adjusted separately.

Things To Know Before You Attend

We'll make sure that your training, the classroom, and seminar materials are the very best they can possibly be. This we can control, and we work hard to make sure we exceed your expectations. However, there are several things that are simply out of our control. A little preparation can really help ensure that your travel to and from the convention center and day with us is enjoyable.

Make sure you have directions and driving instructions in hand, and know our location within the convention center. Many centers are very large and difficult to navigate. Knowing exactly where you're going can save a large amount of time and frustration.

Q. Do you offer a money-back guarantee?

A. YES! We offer a 100% money-back guarantee. We're so sure that our seminars offer the best live training anywhere, for any price that if you're dissatisfied for any reason simply contact our customer service department within 10 days after the date of your event, and we'll gladly provide you with a full refund.

Q. Where Do I Park?

A. Be aware that your convention center or nearby parking garages may charge for parking [prices will vary]. Unfortunately, parking fees are not included with your paid registration.

Q. Do You Provide Lunch?

A. No. You do have one (1) hour for lunch, and we give you this time on your own. Many convention centers do offer cafes and restaurants on the premises, and many do not. We suggest bringing a lunch and snacks for the day, or locating restaurants within walking distance to the convention center. Our staff will also make everyone attending aware of surrounding restaurants and places for snacks the day of the event.

Q. What Should I Wear?

A. Dress is casual; suits, jeans, shorts and sandals are all absolutely allowed. Please wear whatever you're most comfortable in. But, please keep in mind that many convention center rooms get very chilly, and we recommend bringing a sweater or sweatshirt in case it's needed.

Q. Will I Get A Good Seat?

A. Seating is provided on a first-come-first-serve basis. Our doors open for registration at 9:00 AM. However, please don't feel rushed to get a "good seat". Our classrooms offer balanced sound throughout, and we present on large, bright video projection screens that are easily visible from any area of the classroom. Our event seating is arranged "classroom" style; meaning you'll be very comfortable with a chair and table-top workspace.

Q. Do I Need to Bring a Note Pad?

A. The Adobe Photoshop Seminar Tour provides a detailed workbook outlining each step-by-step technique and tutorial taught in the classroom. We want you to sit back and enjoy your day learning, not scrambling to take notes. However, there may be an occasional note to jot down. Your instructor may have a helpful URL for you, or an update to a technique in your workbook. For this we provide a "notes" section on each page of your workbook. Bring a pen the day of the event and you'll have everything you'll need.

Q. Should I Bring My Laptop?

A. Laptops are not required at our events. However, you're welcome to bring yours to follow along with in the classroom. We do not provide power for laptops or other electronic devices. So bring an extra battery or two.

Q. Can I Record the Seminar?

A. No. The Adobe Photoshop Seminar Tour strictly prohibits any video or voice recordings during our seminars. If you have any specific questions or special requests concerning this, please contact our office prior to attending.

Q. Will You Have Interpreting Services, for the hearing impaired?

A. We are very happy to provide interpreting services for our deaf attendees. Please contact our office no later than two weeks prior to your seminar date to allow appropriate arrangements to be made.

Q. What Kind of Access do I Have to the Instructors?

A. You've got great access! We know that one of the best things about our seminar tour is your opportunity to speak face-to-face with our instructors and ask your most pressing Photoshop questions, get your books autographed, or simply take a photo with them to commemorate your visit with us. And you'll have plenty of time for this. Our instructors are available during breaks, lunch, and after the event to answer any questions you may have, sign a book, or take a photo. By the way, this is one of the instructors' favorite things about their events as well. So be sure to stop by the stage and say, "Hi!"

Q. If I Cancel Will I Get My Money Back?

A. If you are unable to attend this event, you are welcome to send someone in your place, request a credit toward a future seminar or request a refund less a $15 enrollment charge. Credit requests must be received within 10 business days of the event. Refund requests must be received no later than 6 business days prior to the event.
