Come spend the day with Scott Kelby, the photographer who wrote the bestselling book on digital photography, as he brings the concepts, images and ideas from his best-selling book series to life in this one-day live training seminar.

Imagine how much you can learn, and how much farther along you’ll be after spending a full-day immersed in just the most important, the most impactful, and the most fun photography techniques. The entire workshop is designed to have you leaving from that day with a new set of skills, a clear set of goals, and just what you need to start taking the type of photos you’ve always dreamed you could.

Class Schedule

Registration begins at 9:00 A.M. - Event begins at 10:00 A.M.

Work Your Camera’s Settings Like A Pro

10:00 to 11:00 A.M.
We start the day by going through the most important, most helpful settings on your camera so you get tack-sharp, in-focus, crisp quality images every single time. We’ll go through the pro’s techniques for shooting in low light and tricky lighting situations, plus important things you need to know about your lenses (including which ones to use when), and how to sidestep some mistakes that sink a lot of photographers. If you’ve ever struggled to get it “right” in the camera—that ends here.

Shoot Travel & Landscape Like A Pro

11:15 to 12:15 P.M.
If you’ve got a camera, and you go on vacation—boom—you’re shooting travel photography. We all do it, yet there’s nothing more frustrating than coming back with shots that don’t capture the color and excitement of your trip. But in this class you’re going to learn exactly what to shoot, when to shoot it, what you can skip and what you can’t miss. We’ll cover everything from how to shoot HDR that looks great to shooting panos that work every time, to getting great shots of people in foreign lands. Also, if you’ve been wanting to really nail those landscape shots, you’ll learn what gear you need, which settings to use and the real secrets to capturing everything from sweeping mountain ranges to luscious waterfalls and everything in-between.

LUNCH BREAK 12:15 to 1:15 P.M.

Create Portraits Like A Pro (And How to Finally “Get” Hot Shoe Flash)

1:15 to 2:30 P.M.
Getting great portraits isn’t just luck. In this session you’ll learn the techniques you need to know to make people look their very best, from shooting angles to focus tips, from how to frame your shots to getting great light indoors and out. Plus, you’ll learn exactly how, from scratch, to set up and use a hot-shoe flash so you have total control of the light in any situation. You will finally “get” hot-shoe flash and you’ll be absolutely amazed at how simple it can be. This class is packed with info you can really use.

How to Make Better Photos

2:45 to 3:45 P.M.
What is the one thing we all really want to do? We just want to take better pictures, right? We want to move to the next level where we really enjoy the process, sidestep the frustration and start taking the kind of photos we know are inside us—we just need to know the techniques that let us focus on the images, and stop getting bogged down in all the technical stuff, and that’s exactly what you’re going to learn in this session. This class is filled with those “ah-ha!” moments that make the light-bulb come on for you so you can start taking better photos. Not in a few months, not in a year—starting tonight!

Photo Recipes: From Start to Finish

4:00 to 5:00 P.M.
This class is based on the most popular chapter in all four parts of Scott’s “Digital Photography Book” series—the Photo Recipes chapter. In this session Scott will break down some of his most popular images and show you exactly how to pull off the exact same look and feel, step-by-step. He’ll cover everything from lenses to camera settings, composition to subject manner, portraits to landscapes. This is an amazing, inspiriting and info-packed way to wrap up the day. And, you’ll have a complete, fully-detailed class workbook that follows right along with Scott’s live training so you don’t have to spend the day scribbling notes—instead you can relax, focus and take it all in.

What Attendees Are Saying

Things To Know Before You Attend

We'll make sure that your training, the classroom, and seminar materials are the very best they can possibly be. This we can control, and we work hard to make sure we exceed your expectations. However, there are several things that are simply out of our control. A little preparation can really help ensure that your travel to and from the convention center and day with us is enjoyable.

Make sure you have directions and driving instructions in hand, and know our location within the convention center. Many centers are very large and difficult to navigate. Knowing exactly where you're going can save a large amount of time and frustration.

Q. Do you offer a money-back guarantee?

A. YES! We offer a 100% money-back guarantee. We’re so sure that our seminars offer the best live training anywhere, for any price that if you’re dissatisfied for any reason simply contact our customer service department within 10 days after the date of your event, and we’ll gladly provide you with a full refund.

Q. Where Do I Park?

A. Be aware that your convention center or nearby parking garages may charge for parking [prices will vary]. Unfortunately, parking fees are not included with your paid registration.

Q. Do You Provide Lunch?

A. No. You do have one (1) hour for lunch, and we give you this time on your own. Many convention centers do offer cafes and restaurants on the premises, and many do not. We suggest bringing a lunch and snacks for the day, or locating restaurants within walking distance to the convention center. Our staff will also make everyone attending aware of surrounding restaurants and places for snacks the day of the event.

Q. What Should I Wear?

A. Dress is casual; suits, jeans, shorts and sandals are all absolutely allowed. Please wear whatever you're most comfortable in. But, please keep in mind that many convention center rooms get very chilly, and we recommend bringing a sweater or sweatshirt in case it's needed.

Q. Will I Get A Good Seat?

A. Seating is provided on a first-come-first-serve basis. Our doors open for registration at 9:00 AM. However, please don't feel rushed to get a "good seat". Our classrooms offer balanced sound throughout, and we present on large, bright video projection screens that are easily visible from any area of the classroom. Our event seating is arranged "classroom" style; meaning you'll be very comfortable with a chair and table-top workspace.

Q. Do I Need to Bring a Note Pad?

A. The Adobe Photoshop Seminar Tour provides a detailed workbook outlining each step-by-step technique and tutorial taught in the classroom. We want you to sit back and enjoy your day learning, not scrambling to take notes. However, there may be an occasional note to jot down. Your instructor may have a helpful URL for you, or an update to a technique in your workbook. For this we provide a "notes" section on each page of your workbook. Bring a pen the day of the event and you'll have everything you'll need.

Q. Should I Bring My Laptop?

A. Laptops are not required at our events. However, you're welcome to bring yours to follow along with in the classroom. We do not provide power for laptops or other electronic devices. So bring an extra battery or two.

Q. Can I Record the Seminar?

A. No. The Adobe Photoshop Seminar Tour strictly prohibits any video or voice recordings during our seminars. If you have any specific questions or special requests concerning this, please contact our office prior to attending.

Q. Will You Have Interpreting Services, for the hearing impaired?

A. We are very happy to provide interpreting services for our deaf attendees. Please contact our office no later than two weeks prior to your seminar date to allow appropriate arrangements to be made.

Q. What Kind of Access do I Have to the Instructors?

A. You've got great access! We know that one of the best things about our seminar tour is your opportunity to speak face-to-face with our instructors and ask your most pressing Photoshop questions, get your books autographed, or simply take a photo with them to commemorate your visit with us. And you'll have plenty of time for this. Our instructors are available during breaks, lunch, and after the event to answer any questions you may have, sign a book, or take a photo. By the way, this is one of the instructors' favorite things about their events as well. So be sure to stop by the stage and say, "Hi!"

Q. If I Cancel Will I Get My Money Back?

A. If you are unable to attend this event, you are welcome to send someone in your place, request a credit toward a future seminar or request a refund less a $15 enrollment charge. Credit requests must be received within 10 business days of the event. Refund requests must be received no later than 6 business days prior to the event.
